Track & Field team sign-ups take place in early December. Uniform orders will be taken at that time as well, and all athletes new to the track program are required to purchase a uniform. The track team does not cut athletes, but very high numbers can reduce the opportunities for some to compete. Practice begins when we return to school in January, practicing 5 days a week. Those in a winter sport may still join the team, they will just begin practicing with the team after their winter season ends. Most varsity meets take place on Friday evenings or Saturday mornings, with J.V. and Freshmen meets taking place in the evenings during the week. Freshmen and J.V. complete their seasons in mid-May, while the varsity team runs until the State Championship Meet, which is generally held during the last week of May or first week of June.
